Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: How many seeds are typically included in a 20g packet?
A: Cabbage seeds generally yield around 220 to 390 seeds per gram. A 20-gram packet of Takii Green Coronet contains roughly 4,400 to 7,800 seeds, depending on the exact seed lot size and seed treatments applied.
Q: What is the maturity timeline for Green Coronet Cabbage?
A: The variety matures highly uniformly based on your planting season. It takes approximately 75 to 80 days from transplant to reach full size under summer conditions, and 120 to 140 days when overwintered for late winter or spring harvests.
Q: Can this cabbage withstand long-distance shipping and storage?
A: Yes. Green Coronet is an industry favorite specifically due to its dense, rock-solid heads and a semi-upright frame that protects the head during transit. It has high storage longevity and can be kept deep into spring if properly refrigerated after harvest.
Q: What type of soil and spacing does this variety prefer?
A: This heavy-feeding brassica thrives best in fertile, well-draining soils with a pH range of 6.5 to 7.5 paired with consistent, deep irrigation. For commercial setups, intensive spacing of 2 rows per bed with plants spaced every 45 cm within the row is highly recommended.
Q: Are these seeds treated?
A: Yes, commercial packages of Takii Green Coronet seeds are typically treated with a professional fungicide layer to protect emerging seedlings from damping-off and soil-borne fungal diseases during early germination stages.
