Mancozeb 80% WP 1kg

Fungicides are pesticides that prevent, kill, mitigate or inhibit parasitic fungi and their reproductive spores. They are commonly used in agriculture to prevent or treat fungal diseases detrimental to crop production.

Rescue your crops from fungal destruction with Mancozeb 80 WP. A fungicide controls a wide range of fungal diseases in vegetables, fruits & ornamental plants. Mancozeb is a protective fungicide which reacts with, and inactivates sulfhydryl (SH) groups of aminoacids and enzymes of fungal cells, resulting in disruption of lipid metabolism, respiration and production of ATP.

Mancozeb 80% WP 1kg is a highly effective, broad-spectrum, contact fungicide used in agriculture and horticulture to protect crops against a massive variety of fungal diseases. Formulated as a Wettable Powder (WP), this 1kg package forms a uniform protective barrier over plant surfaces to destroy fungal spores before they can penetrate plant tissue. Because it uses a multi-site mode of action to disrupt fungal cellular metabolism, target pathogens have an incredibly low risk of developing resistance to it.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How does Mancozeb 80% WP work?
It acts purely as a preventive contact fungicide. It coats the exterior of the leaves, stems, and fruits. When fungal spores land on the treated plant tissue, Mancozeb inactivates the enzymes and amino acids required for the fungus to breathe, convert lipids, and generate energy, killing the spore before it infects the host.
What is the standard dosage and application rate?
Dosages vary slightly by crop, but standard regional guidelines include:
  • Foliar Spray: Approximately 50g per 15–20 Liter sprayer (or roughly 1.5 kg per hectare diluted in 200–400 liters of water).
  • Seed Treatment: Mix 2.5g of powder per 1kg of seeds to prevent seedling blights.
  • Tubers/Rhizomes: Soak tubers for 20–30 minutes in a solution of 300g per 100 liters of water before sowing.
Can I mix Mancozeb 80% WP with other agricultural chemicals?
Yes, it is physically compatible with most commonly used insecticides and other systemic fungicides. However, you must not mix it with alkaline mixtures such as Lime Sulphur or Bordeaux mixture, as highly alkaline fluids break down the active ingredient and drastically reduce its effectiveness. Always perform a quick jar test first if mixing with unfamiliar brands.
How often should I apply this fungicide?
Because it is a contact protectant, it needs to be applied preventively every 7 to 14 days during periods when environmental conditions favor disease outbreaks (high humidity and rain). If a heavy rainstorm occurs shortly after application, you will need to reapply the spray as it can wash off plant foliage.
What is the Pre-Harvest Interval (PHI) for Mancozeb?
The safe timeline between your last spray and picking your crop varies strictly by the specific fruit or vegetable. Generally, a PHI of 7 to 14 days is standard for most vegetables, while some field crops require up to 21–28 days. Always check your local product packaging labels to guarantee compliance with regional health safety regulations.
Is Mancozeb 80% WP safe for the environment?
Mancozeb possesses low environmental persistence and a negligible risk of leaching into deep groundwater. It has low toxicity to birds and mammals when handled according to standard agricultural safety sheets. However, always wear gloves, a protective mask, and goggles during mixing and application to prevent skin or respiratory irritation from the powder dust.
