1. Do I need to put oil in the engine before using it?

Yes. The pump is shipped dry without engine oil. Running the engine without oil will cause immediate, irreversible internal damage. You must fill the crankcase with standard 4-stroke small engine oil (typically SAE 10W-30) up to the specified mark on the dipstick before starting it for the first time.

2. Does this pump require priming?

Yes. This is a centrifugal pump and must always be primed with water before starting. Never run the pump dry, as this will burn out the mechanical seals inside the pump housing.

To prime it, unscrew the plastic cap on top of the silver pump housing.
Fill the housing completely with clean water.
Tighten the cap back securely before pulling the starter cord.

3. What kind of water can this machine handle?

This model is designated as a clean water pump. It is designed for fresh water, swimming pools, hot tubs, and clear drainage. It can process small gravel particles up to 9mm. Do not use it for thick mud, heavy sewage, sludge, or water containing large rocks, as you will jam the impeller and damage the machine.

4. Can I use regular fuel from the gas station?

Yes. Use standard, fresh unleaded petrol. Avoid using old, stale fuel or fuel with high ethanol contents left in storage for months, as it will clog the carburetor. Do not mix oil with the petrol, because the 4-stroke engine keeps fuel and oil completely separate.
