Operation & Setup

• Do I need to prime the pump before starting it?
  Yes. You must completely fill the pump casing with water through the priming plug before turning on the engine. Running a centrifugal water pump dry will quickly destroy the internal mechanical seals. 
• What type of fuel does this water pump use?
  It requires fresh, straight unleaded petrol. Never use old, stale fuel or a 2-stroke oil/petrol mix, as this will damage the 4-stroke engine. 
• How much fuel should I fill into the tank?
  Fill up to the fuel strainer limit. Always leave a gap of roughly 20mm to 25mm from the top of the tank to allow the petrol to expand safely in hot weather. 

Performance & Maintenance

• How do I maximize the water flow rate?
  Place the machine as close to the water level as possible. Minimizing the suction height (suction head) decreases the priming time and drastically improves overall output. Keep your suction and discharge hoses as straight and short as possible. 
• Can I use this model for pumping muddy water or sewage?
  No. The HWP10026 is built for clean or semi-trash fresh water (like rain puddles or pool water). Pumping thick mud, rocks, or heavy solids requires a dedicated trash pump, such as a Hyundai Diesel Trash Pump. 
• How do I control the speed or output volume?
  You can change the engine speed using the manual throttle lever. Moving it to "HIGH" increases engine RPM and flow rate, while moving it to "LOW" slows it down.
