A: No. This is strictly a discharge (outlet) hose. It is designed to handle positive internal pressure. If used on the suction side, the vacuum created by the pump will cause it to collapse flat immediately and choke the system. For suction needs, you must use a rigid, spiral-reinforced suction hose. 
Q: What is the pressure rating for an 8" layflat hose?
